Why are you in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide?
Because our cask ale is consistently well kept and supported by local CAMRA members. Entry is based on votes and inspection — not paid listings.
How many cask ales do you have on?
We run 8 rotating cask ales, always served properly and kept to traditional cellar standards.
Do you serve food?
We’re beer-led. We offer quality bar snacks, but we’re not a food-led pub.
Are you a free house?
Yes. We’re completely independent. We’re not tied to a brewery or pub company, which means we choose our beers based on quality — not contracts.
How do you choose your beers?
We taste widely and select beers based on balance, drinkability and reputation. We support independent breweries and rotate regularly to keep the bar interesting. If it’s not good enough, it doesn’t go on
Why are Landlord and Paulaner permanent?
Landlord is one of the best examples of a traditional British pale ale and consistently performs. Paulaner represents classic Bavarian brewing at its best. Everything else rotates — but those two set the standard.
